In 1998, Alex moved to South Florida to pursue her education at the University of Miami, Coral Gables. There she double majored in Communications and Film with a Photography minor. After the U in 2002, she began work at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis, Massachusetts (an outdoor concert venue). There she worked crew gaining extensive knowledge of audio, lighting and staging, to compliment her already vast knowledge of production. Shortly into her first year at the CCMT, she was granted the title of Lighting Director. While working at CCMT Alex had directed concert lighting for legendary acts such as Crosby, Stills and Nash, Lyle Lovett, Joe Cocker, Carol King, Chris Isaak, Styx and many others over her two year stint with the venue. All the while she was still working with the family business, making contacts with many of today’s major record labels, artists, managers, and producers.
From there, in early 2004 Alex moved back down to Florida and went to work with the Tube Music Network, created by Les Garland, the creator of MTV, VH1, and The Box. She came in on the ground level of this start up company. Here she met Producer, and future CreativeSeen creator and Director, David Rousseau. The Tube served to further broaden Alex’s horizons and push her towards the television, film and video side of the industry. In addition to working at the Tube Alex also worked freelance at some of the local concert venues, lending her lifetime of knowledge to the concert production scene in South Florida. She was part of the production team for the Premio Lo Nuestro Awards show at the Miami Arena, and also worked as the Lighting Director for the “Billie & Me” nationwide concert tour (a tribute tour for Billie Holiday).
After working with the Tube for two + years, and working freelance production, Alex went to work with South Florida music video director, and fellow U. Miami Alum, Malcolm Jones. She started out with Malcolm as a treatment writer and quickly took on the role of producer for his newly formed company, Café 451. This position allowed her to further develop her contacts in the music video world.
Everything came full circle for Alex in early 2006 when she again joined forces with Director David Rousseau. Once again, Alex took on the role of producer and treatment writer. To date, the team has worked with A-list artists like, Lil Jon, Pitbull, Trina, Lloyd, Casely, Flo Rida, Fat Joe, etc… Much more to come in the future for CreativeSeen, so stay tuned.
